6 Fascinating Things About Me...hmmmm

ETA: Sorry I've had a bad day and a few of the links needed to be fixed.

I've been tagged. I am to think of six fascinating facts about myself that you probably don't know. My tagger is a doll so I don't mind giving it a whirl.

Jan is a new blogging friend who I was fortunate to "meet" through Cupid's Charm's Beautiful Blogging party. She is a talented artist, tickles my funny bone and has been such an angel through my surgery nightmare.

The rules are for me to link back to The Polkadot Barn (which I already did), list six other bloggers that I want to know more about so they can tell us six fascinating things about themselves. I really want to know about everyone which is why I visit their blogs, but I picked six bloggers who I also think could have fun with it. I tag:

  1. Renee' at Yes Is Red
  2. Geralyn at Greetings from Geralyn
  3. Sonia at Vintage Rose Designs
  4. Jodie at everything vintage
  5. Linda B. at Muketown Craftroom & My Altered Life Art Studio
  6. Stephanie at The Spanish Dalhia

Okay, so now I am to think of six fascinating facts about myself. The following is all I can find:

  1. Dan Akroyd's wife, Donna Dixon, babysat me a few times when I spent the night with her sister, Sherri.
  2. When I was 14 years old I met Elizabeth Taylor and Senator John Warner at the Scottish Games in Alexandria, VA, and sat with her on her picinic blanket the whole day.
  3. I could read before I began kindergarten, but nobody knows how I learned and I don't remember.
  4. I've been plagued by a debilitating illness for years that left me bed ridden twice, but a zillion doctors couldn't find the cause until recently and it was a diseased gallbladder that was just removed on May 5th. Now I'm hoping to regain my strength and join the living.
  5. I dream of traveling "off the beaten path" in a camper some day.
  6. A blogging friend Tara recommended I read The Shack, I almost didn't read it, but I did and it has changed me and the way I live my life forever.
  7. How could I forget to mention that I attended Highschool with Dermott Mulroney. My kids get a kick out of looking at my yearbook.
  8. My Highschool, T.C. Williams, is the school portrayed in the movie Remember the Titans.

Now I am off to email or leave comments for the bloggers I tagged. I know people are busy, some only post planned posts, some don't like being tagged, etc... It's okay if you don't want to play along. Also, everyone is tagged if they want to play along. When I first started visiting blogs and saw this sort of thing, I remembered hoping I'd be tagged one day and I even blogged about it recently on my other blog.

How completely random these all are - I love it!

I am so happy to hear that you are on the road to recovery! Is that weird? I'm not happy you've been sick, but happy you're getting better! You know what I mean girl!

You are definitely fascinating.

xoxo

Thanks so much for tagging me! I was reading your blog, and wondering if you ever found out why your surgeon made those separate incisions to do your surgery. It doesn't sound like he was very good. What a shame. It angers me when people mess with other's life like that. I hope you are feeling better now. I'm behind on my blog surfing this week, so I have to go and get caught up:)

that was very interesting... I wonder if Elizabeth taylor spoke with you and what she said, and what she was wearing, and how you felt... maybe you'll tell us sometime. and if you do get off the beaten track, maybe you'll stumble on my driveway. :)

thanks for thinking of me.

I can sense your returning strength and that's good to see.

Blessings,
René

sounds like a pity party to me.I've read your blog a few times and so far I hear a lot of talk about what you intend to do but what have you actually done? This network is supposed to be one of action and progression but as of yet I haven't observed any of that from you. Some people never overcome the fear of admitting total defeat but in most cases that is the only way to die and reincarnate yourself in to someone that ends to trail of failure.

Thank you everyone for the kind get well messages!

Peach - I also enjoyed reading your posts with 100 facts, YOU are fascinating! I'm so glad you brought your blog back. I missed that dose of reality.

Linda - Yes, the surgeon told me that he does it that way to cut down on the chances of infection and it heals better(?).

Sonia - Thanks for thinking of me.

Rene' - Thanks for thinking of me and for the great idea for an upcoming post.

David - Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinions, all points of view are welcome here. I am far from having a pity party although I have been busy getting ready for the Mad Tea Party. The fact that you left such an interestingly personal comment on a blog you have "read a few times" under the cloak of anonymity, leads me to believe I may know who your identity. I'm sorry you have nothing better to do with your time than to attempt to make another person as miserable as I know you really feel inside. I know how awful that feels because I've been there before, I hope you get some help.

Well now I am surely going to look for "The Shack" on your recommendation.

I found all of your facts fascinating, especially the Elizabeth Taylor part... she is one of my icons! She was actually the Angelina Jolie of her day but time has healed her rep, along with her humanitarian work. What a fascinating lady! She must have been very gracious to keep the company of a 14 year old girl all day! I can only imagine Loopy sitting with Angelina... hmmmmm..... might not go so well....

I think David is a very small little man hiding behind a PC with his own frustrations from life and spewing it on whomever he can as long as he doesn't have to face them. So good luck to you David in overcoming your own self loathing, that way you won't feel the need to randomly try and hurt someone you don't even know. You have know idea what this person has overcome in their life, just a thought.

Saucy - Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog. I pulled out my ticket from the Scottish Games that year and I guess I was more like twelve. She was married to Senator John Warner and they announced not to aske her for autographs. I wandered over to her picinic blanket and she invited me to sit down. She had violet colored eyes and a lovely english accent (sort of). She was very gracious and I just sat quietly mesmerized. She's a classy lady.

Pete - Thank you for your kind words, they meant so very much to me. I felt very vulnerable and you proved to me that we make some powerful connections on this blogosphere.

Lover of Life - Your blog is usually my morning meditation. I am so grateful to have found you. I am at the perfect place in my life to relate to and be fascinated by everything you write. As my sons say, "You've got mad skills!" lol! Thank you for the visit.
