Toss and Organize

My resolution for the new year is to work on my very own Project Happiness. I like that everyone's Project Happiness will look different and there is no right or wrong.

This month's focus is Energy. This week's resolution is Toss and Organize. I have the feeling that clutter has taken over my home and is sucking the energy out of everyone. I began by tossing almost all of my make-up and cosmetic creams and serums. It has been years since I bought any so obviously it is all old and I need to let go. I have also been filling boxes of clothes that don't fit or were left here by one of the many teenagers who crashed here when they didn't have anywhere to stay. Looking around I cannot deny that I have become a hoarder of scrapbook supplies, books, as well as stacks and stacks of files containing meaningful magazine articles, project sheets, and various other things that need to go. This resolution is definitely going to take more than a week. I will work on it until it has been completed. I visualize letting things that I do not need or use going to someone who may need it or find joy in using it.

This resolution will be a big step in accomplishing my goal of traveling lighter.

I recently read Zen Habits by Leo Babauta. One of the great things about lightening up is that you begin to feel it as soon as you start to unload. Here's to "lighter" living ahead, my friend! EFH

Clutter does suck the energy out of you. Once you are done tossing and donating, I'm sure your home will feel lighter and so will you. :)

You will feel light as a feather when you have done with releasing all that you no longer need. I did the same when I moved in August and funny thing is that I keep finding more and more that I don't really want, use or like anymore. It is funny how we cling to things, we like these things offer some sort of comfort, when really all we ever really need is locked within our heart....

I'm so happy for you! You will feel so good to purge all of your unused items. Plus, you will make someone else who is in need of your items very happy:D
